Late Work Policy

Dear Students and Parents:

Please note that it is an English Language Arts Department policy that no late work will be accepted for reasons other than absence. When absent, a student has two days for every one day absent to make up work, but work turned in after that, or work that is late for any other reason, will not be accepted. In addition to this, please be aware that if a student is absent the day a long-term assignment is due, that assignment must be turned in the day the student returns. The two-day make-up work policy applies only to work assigned during the absence. Work assigned before the absence and due during the absence is due the day the student returns.

It is extremely important that as junior high students grow in responsibility and maturity, they learn to meet the deadlines and due dates set for them. This department-wide policy that no late work will be accepted is effective immediately. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Welcome to Seventh Grade English Language Arts!

7th Grade Mission Statement:

We are here to learn, develop, and be successful seventh graders. In order to be successful, we have to cooperate, collaborate, communicate, and help each other to do the best we can. We will try our hardest by listening and respecting others as well as being responsible for our own actions and work.

Language Arts Goal:

By the end of the school year, 100% of the seventh grade class will MEET or EXCEED the seventh grade ELA standards that are measured by quarterly CFAs and other assessments.
